Our researchers, Sarah and Océane who are both responsible for the Italy part of the project work with different groups.

Océane’s predominantly male participants are unaccompanied refugee minors who were recruited in several settings including a first reception centre for minors in Palermo, a night shelter for both minors and adults in Rome, and both formal and informal transit camps in Ventimiglia.

While Sarah’s participants are all female, Nigerian unaccompanied refugee minors and adults. They were recruited individually and via multiple shelters under the care of organisations that care for vulnerable populations including unaccompanied refugee minors and specifically, victims of human trafficking for sexual exploitation.
